Chadburn Lake Park
1 of 5 Regional Parks identified in Whitehorse's 2010 Official Community Plan

Excerpt from the City's webpage:
"The park encompasses four major lake areas": Chadburn Lake,
Chadden Lake, Hidden Lakes, and Long Lake.
Note: The Chadburn Lake Park Management Plan was adopted at the June 26, 2017 meeting of City Council.

Background:

The City process to develop a management plan for this park has begun. If you want to be added to the City's Chadburn email list or have questions, send an email to regionalparks@whitehorse.ca or call 689-2973.

The public is being asked to identify key values and management objectives. Public participation will occur over the winter and spring of 2016. The Management Plan will provide a framework on how to manage the recreational, environmental and heritage values. The Chadburn Plan is expected to be the template for the Plans that will be developed for the other 4 regional parks (see City Parks Planning tab for info on the Regional Parks Plan on these 5 parks).

ATWA has an article concerning Chadburn Lake Regional Park in the latest edition of the Yukon Conservation Society 2015 winter edition of their newsletter, Walk Softly (page 10). http://www.yukonconservation.org/…/newslette…/winter2015.pdf

The City's consultants, 3Pikas, will host a public engagement "Ideas Fair" on Feb 3, 2016 at the Old Fire Hall.

In Nov 2015 Council awarded the consulting contract to 3Pikas Development Studio Inc. 3Pikas has since met with stakeholder groups and initiated public input with a both an interactive on-line mapping platform and an interactive display at the Canada Games Centre (Dec 8-20).
They also have an on-line map to which you can add places, photos and comments http://chadburn.civicly.io/about

In November representatives from ATWA had a very productive meeting with John Glynn-Morris, who is one of those involved in the Chadburn Lake Park planning process. Visit the link below to see how you can become involved.

In anticipation of Chadburn Park planning, ATWA provided a submission to the Planning & Building Services Department. The submission is below as a downloadable pdf.

ATWA members also participated in the two City led interpretive walks in Chadburn Park (held in September & October).
